I made a trip to BRU the other day (thanks, mom!) and picked up an Itzbeen and a tub of Boudreaux (we definitely prefer the tub as you can scrape every last bit out of that puppy). We need the Boudreaux’s Butt Paste because Lowell’s 2 year molars are starting to come in and his little bum isn’t a happy bum right now. Why teething affects their little rear ends so quickly is still a mystery to me. The Boudreaux has always worked for us, despite its incompatibility with cloth diapering (stains, smelly). I figured I’d get the Itzbeen while I was there and am using it to time contractions. Don’t worry, they’ve been 2 hours, 8 min, 1.5 hours, 20 min… very irregular.
Every clock in this house is set to a slightly different time (I, personally, go by the time on the mac) which will make it difficult to accurately time contractions as I am certain that I will not labor soley in front of the computer. It’s really nice to have a hand-held timer that will be more useful than a stopwatch once the wee little Barnes is born. We’ve done the spreadsheets and may very well keep one for this baby in the first however-many-days the midwives want us to, but I’m confident enough in surviving the first month not to keep a written record of everything so the timers on the Itzbeen seem perfect to me.
No picture today, but I will post one tomorrow. ![]()
