a nap! a REAL nap!
Today I decided to try to put Korben in his crib at some point. Wouldn’t you know? it worked! I had him in the wrap and he just kept sucking on his hands so I took him out and latched him on. He nursed into a deep sleep almost immediately so I took my chance and ever-so-gently laid him down on his tummy. He ended up sleeping for three hours. I left his door open and even had the blinds open at one point (to get pictures!) and he slept through the noise of getting the big brothers down for their naps and the noise of the cameras. I love the pictures I got and ended up doing lots of playing around with them, as you can see here. Whether or not he will give me 3 hours in his crib overnight is up to him.
I’m sleeping in our extra queen bed and will, at some point each night, put him in his crib until he is predictable with it and then I’ll move back into my bedroom. So far, though, the co-sleeping is so much easier with lots of space. If you think about it, half of a queen size bed is smaller than a twin! I’m so thankful we have two queen sized beds, and I’m praying that David is doing better because of his uninterrupted nights.
—I did it! I put him in the crib last night and left his room. I only got up twice to feed him (once I put him down around midnight, of course) and at his 8 am hungries, we were all up for the day! Hurray! If it doesn’t work every night, at least it worked for last night. —
And because I cannot resist, here are two more of Korben in his crib before I start my nightly routine. Remember, you can enlarge them by clicking on them.
