Things I Love

I went to the mall yesterday fully intending to come home with a new fall candle, but nothing in the Yankee Candle store beat my Spiced Pumpkin at home. Their new line seems a little too apple-spice-y for our liking. The aroma of spiced apple cider tends to cause dry heaves around here and we don’t want that, no sirree. This one is the most “fall” smelling without getting into the dreaded cinnamon-and-apple-cider combination.
Sidenote: I don’t know why David and I both gag at the mere whiff of that combination, but we do, so be warned if we’re over at your place you have appley-cinnamon wafting around your house and we suddenly turn green, that’s probably why.

Thanks for the heads-up on the apple cinnamon thing. ;) Actually, I prefer the pumpkin, too. Unless it is REAL cider. Does that make you nauseated? Or is it just the candle?
Oh, real cider too, though the aroma from the drink isn’t as strong as those candles! We’re usually okay if we don’t drink it but others are… for some reason we’re both (me and Dave) sensitive to that particular smell.
I used to work at a card store that sold Yankee Candles, and nothing says fall to me like that one. I can smell it just looking at the picture. MMMMM. I might even have a votive around here somewhere, I should go try to dig it up…
