some technical changes
So, you might have noticed that the web address for the blog here is a’changing (has changed/sometimes acts wonky) – WordPress is no longer stored in the “wordpress” folder for one. Also, the old RSS feed is dead. pow. gone. New one works, though. I think. I guess I should have thought out the process of moving a little better and given some warning. Oh well. Can’t go back and redo that I guess. I’m trying to set up some 301 redirects so maybe I can get the feed situation fixed on my end… but I don’t rightly know how that works. I’m lucky enough that the blog got moved over with all 1691 posts (that’s 6.5 years’ worth) and that most of the recent pictures came too. :-)
Just a note, though, that this domain is technically housed in a subdomain of jenbarnesphoto.com so you’ll sometimes see the permalinks pop over to davejenbarnes.jenbarnesphoto.com fixed in the wordpress settings! easy! – all is well, it’s the same blog with the same content and the same website… it’s just that somehow, the little curtain gets pulled aside and the jenbarnesphoto.com shows up for all to see. I tried a 301 redirect with wildcard selected but it’s not working (something about not being able to use a Wild Card Redirect to redirect your main domain to a different directory on your site … or something). I don’t know enough about the technicalities behind how this stuff works to explain it very well, but I know just enough to be dangerous. dangerous to myself. d’oh!
I’m adding a project 365 to the blog (tried to last year but started a few months late and fizzled out mid-summer) which you’ll see in the previous post. I’ll be back with the afore promised Christmas Eve service post soon. I hope to blog it by the end of January! (kidding, I’ve just got to get the pictures resized for web) but in the meantime, here are some of Lowell in the van at Sonic waiting on his chocolate milk.
Gosh, I love that boy.
