Guessing from the comments (like, NONE) the only beings that visit this site are spammers. Please PLEASE if you’re human and you read this, I’m begging you, leave a comment from time to time. I don’t blog very often because I don’t get comments and I don’t get (real) comments I guess because I’m not blogging. It’s a vicious cycle, I know. horribleness.

Anyhow… to my dad and my father-in-law, who I know check the blog regularly, thank you for reading and here are some pictures of your grandsons from this morning. (Oh, and one of Audrey, the cutest little munchkin I ever did see. Yes, she is a mischievous munchkin.)  We went to a birthday party over in our old neck of the woods.  We drove by the duplex and it looks the same.  I thought it would make me a little sad to drive by but I honestly only felt relief.  So many families crammed so close together on that street… The tree that was only a couple of feet tall is now about as tall as the entire house.  I was amazed.  I wish I knew what kind of tree that is so I could plant one over here — fast growing shade!  James did not remember that place this morning when we drove by.  We’re so thankful for our house.

The birthday party was at a jump-house place.  I actually got Lowell to go down the giant slide.  Yes, that’s Dave up there at the top on the first picture.  The boys love it when we get to jump and slide, too!

Here’s Audrey as I mentioned above.  She’s just so lovable.  The longer I look at this picture, the more and more grown-up she looks, too.  It’s so fun watching her grow up.

My Korbs.  My baby.  What a great embochure!  What instrument do you think he’ll end up playing?  Anyone want to guess?

I even took Korben down the slide.  Yep.  I did.

and he LOVED it.

One thing that caught me by surprise as I was going through the pictures tonight was how similar Korben and James look.  I know I hear it all the time but — wow, it’s actually very true, especially when they’re both dressed in blue.  Notice how our three are the three NOT saying what they were asked to say.  Not that Korben would but … they’re all three just so serious.

I’ll end with a picture of the cake… isn’t it amazing?  This is princess Tiana from the Princess and the Frog movie.

That was our morning in a nutshell.

Dave and I are working on a few projects around here, slowly but surely.   We have the $20 tabletop I picked up at World Market sitting in the garage with its 4th coat drying… 2 coats of oil based primer and 2 coats of latex paint.  There will probably be another 5 or so layers of paint put on before we add the final 2 coats of varnish.  The oil based primer is pretty thick and someone (*cough*ME*cough*) didn’t sand the primer down enough before the first layer of paint went on, so the brush strokes are pretty visible.  All’s well, though.  We want the paint to last (and last and last and la….. ah-hem, sorry) through three boys growing up.  Oh, and fyi, in case you’re wondering, we decided on black.

While we were letting the 4th coat dry with the garage door open, a guy came up and offered Dave $45 for the TV and DVD player that was sitting in there.  We’d tried to sell it several times on craigslist and in garage sales but … never could get rid of it.  Kinda sad to see a TV that we paid over $600 for and a DVD player that ate up over $200 go for $45 but such is life.  At least we got something (and gained back the space in the garage) for it.

In other news, the coupe’s Check Engine light came on and we’re holding our breath for that estimate.  I’m betting it’s over $1000.

We also have discovered that the school we would like to get James into (sounds like we’re sending him to a private school, huh) is on the Moratorium for LISD so there will be some hoops jumped through and strings pulled in the coming weeks.  Pray for David.  He doesn’t like having to jump through hoops and pull strings at the same time.  The back-up school is not on the Moratorium, though, so we’re confident that we will be able to get the boys into CPMS in six years.  Yes, this is all because David would eventually like to have the boys going to the same school where he works and the only way to do that (besides selling our house and moving into an apartment in the middle school’s zone – because there is NO way we could afford to move into those neighborhoods!) is to do an in-campus transfer into an elementary school that feeds into his middle school.  All the middle schools in LISD are on the Moratorium and will probably remain on the Moratorium.  It’s complicated but … we would cherish any prayers.

Ok, well, that about wraps it up.  I’m going to hit publish and if I think of anything else, I’ll just have to type up a new post.

Clarinet! I guess clarinet :-) Korben is destined for the best instrument out there, just look at those tight corners (sorry, Dave, but trombone is not it :-) tee hee). It most certainly does not look like a buzzing embouchure.

And you know I read the ol’ blog becuase I DO comment every now and then :-)

And ok, I guess he can play a buzzed instrument, too.

I read every time you update. Sorry I don’t leave comments often…I just try not to pollute the blogosphere with comments for the sake of comments. I enjoy looking at your photos, and that’s why I keep coming back (well, that, and to peek in on the life of a college friend)… :)
