a good deal
Yes, we just ordered the new Mac OS X “panther” last night. David had been drooling over some of the new features of this operating system and even made a convincing argument to get me to go to Fry’s with him, on a Monday night, even, just to find out what he already knew. Which is: They’ll probably carry the new OSX on the 24th for sale in the evening, but we’re not sure, and you can get it cheaper if you buy a new mac. Ha. Sorry frys, David gets an educational rate direct from apple, so we don’t need your discounted-if-you-buy-a-mac arguement.
I’ve dissappeared from the blogging scene to put the finishing touches on the cpmsbandpics site in the eighth grade night page. I’ve also had a toothache. Any toothache is an exclamation point after the sentence: You need to see the dentist (!) And there it is, the pain of the exclamation point pulsing in my tooth. It only actually hurts when there is a change of temperature in either direction (hot or cold) around the tooth. That means I either don’t eat heated or chilled foods or have to be really really careful whist eating those foods. So far, I’ve opted to eating room-temperature foods such as cereal, cool mac-n-cheese, chips, those little packages of apple sauce and canned fruit that isn’t refrigerated. . . a healthy diet, I know, I know! The good news: I get to see my dentist today. Hopefully he will smooth out the chip and be able to determine how serious the crack is. I haven’t mentioned how I got the cracked/chipped tooth: clenching my jaw, but off to one side, so as to put all the pressure on one tooth, the canine tooth.
We will also have digital cable installed on Saturday. I’m kind of skeptical but we’ve missed 2 years of “Good Eats” and this way we’ll be able to watch it without commercials and whenever we want to. I’m really tired of those rabbit ears antennas that the cats keep knocking over. They refuse to pick up Oprah. The antenna, not the cats. I’m sure I’ll be blogging about our experiences with Time Warner’s DVR. Our friends have TiVo, so we’re interested in seeing the differences. I think TiVo has better software/interface from what I’ve read online. Check back on Saturday. Late Saturday. I should have something blogged by then. -Jen
