Handspinning yarn is crazy-relaxing. I can’t believe how good it feels to do something the same way people have done for thousands of years. This is my new drop spindle, a Cascade Little Si, sitting on a bed of super soft roving.
I was really itchin’ to sew something this weekend and found the un-paper bag which I knew immediately would only take about an hour and a half to make (with random breaks to surf Ravelry and wash a batch of dishes). So here we have my first unfinished un-paper bag. It’s unfinished [...]
I am typing this up on our new Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard courtesy a very generous brother who spoils me for Christmas. (He also gifted us a new pen for my wacom as well as a much-needed memory card upgrade (4GB!) for the camera.) This tiny keyboard has the benefit of [...]
I finally finished something… there are so many projects! This is the sugarplum shrug from Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts 2007 Issue. It took me a month and a few days of spare-time knitting but I finally got it done. It isn’t as big as it’s supposed to be but, hey, it fits. Not [...]
I had a little knitting blog going but decided to keep everything over here and just make use of my categories. Ravelry is knocking my socks off. I mean, wow. Totally impressed with the knitting website. It is like a virtual knitting journal where I can keep track of my yarns, needles, books, projects [...]
They fit! They fit!

Cascade 220 wool with lighter mystery wool detail on waist and cuffs, curly purly waistband. Size M
Here is where I found instructions for the cast-on. The only difference is that [...]
Ok, so it ain’t purty but it works.
After tangling the second hank to oblivion in trying to wind it into a neat little center-pull ball, I searched online for swifts. I found a great deal on Joann’s website with a 50% off code (just google Joanns coupons) but [...]
I’m still cloth diapering. Yes. Both boys. I end up needing to do a load of diapers about every 1.5 days, which means sometimes I wash 2 days in a row and other times I wash every other day. It just depends on how active their little systems are in any given 24 hour period. [...]
They fit! Of course, some of the measurements should be fine tuned if I make another pair for him before, like, tomorrow, but I can get them up over a prefold. Hurray!
