Our close friends, the Walkers, had their triplets today. Please keep that whole family in your prayers as there was an emergency with the new mom’s bleeding. She’s in stable condition right now and we are praying for a speedy and healthy recovery. All three babies are doing wonderfully.

The new mom [...]
James has a head-cold, or, officially, an upper respiratory infection. Dr. Wacker said it would take about 7 days to run it’s course. The words “upper respiratory infection” sound so specific when coming from a mom but they sound so generic when coming from a Doctor.
On the other hand, at 5 months old, he [...]
Yesterday, James came down with his first cold. David came home sick from school on Friday and didn’t feel great for about 4 days… then I came down with it on Sunday and didn’t feel great (and still don’t feel great, to be honest) and yesterday, James was the one to get sick. He slept [...]
James hasn’t wanted to eat in the past week or so. At least when he is awake. I can get him to latch on briefly but he only nurses for about 3 minutes before he starts hitting me and kicking me and making those desperate, panicky noises that babies are so good at making. He’s [...]
The blue car is dead. So that’s a prayer request. When the key is turned, it click, click, click, click, click, clicks in rapid succession. It happened yesterday at church. Thank God we drive both cars to church! So, the blue car has a 3:15 appointment tomorrow afternoon. We will have to jump-start it with [...]
Yes, prayers:
David will be gone all day. All day as in only home for maybe an hour (tops) in the early evening. You see, he has a lunch date with the other middle school band directors so he won’t be home for lunch – and he has an open house in the evening for [...]
Today has been the hardest day on mommy. He’s 2 weeks old today, and celebrated with two very scary, very wet, very warm, very messy vomitting sessions. The first was around 1-something this afternoon and was completely understandable as I set him in his bassinet without receiving a really good burp but the second… he [...]
David and I cannot afford healthcare through his school for the three of us. He’s hearing from the healthcare rep. that is at his school today that it will be illegal for me and the baby to find independent coverage because it is available for us from his school. The problem is that if we [...]
So, yeah, I had an accident in the blue car last Tuesday. I didn’t say anything earlier because I wanted the family to know I (and the little Barnes) was okay and that nothing really happened afterall. [...]
We got back from TMEA in San Antonio yesterday. It was really good to see some of the Roma kids we had taught 3-4 years ago doing so well with their music. David was under the weather the whole time. We were sure it must’ve been the flu since I had been given a flu [...]
I stopped by the hospital briefly this morning to drop off the quilt for Kimberly and Kambry and got to see Kambry one more time before heading down to Austin again. There were many more tubes today than yesterday.
Kambry needs your PRAYERS. Please petition God for His mercy on little Kambry’s health. I know [...]
Kimberly is now able to see her daughter in the NICU since the nurses brought her a wheelchair. Please pray for little Kambry so they can take her out of the NICU and let her stay with her mommy. Kimberly is planning on being at the hospital through Saturday.
