James Michael Barnes was born on July 19th at 5:58 AM. He weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 inches long!

Three days late. Felt great today. We went to church (late service) and everybody was so friendly. Normally I feel invisible but I guess this big ‘ol belly catches attention. Plus everybody thought our due date was Friday!

Rascal is an old guy. Sometimes at night, if there is moonlight, or at dusk, when everything appears the same shade of grey, his white face looks like a ghost floating, meandering, gently from side to side as he walks around.

100% effaced
“a loose” fingertip (1-2 cm) dilated
baby still very very low (+1 or more station)

baby’s heartbeat very strong
