I somehow have lost all 4 of my compact flash cards. If I had one, even a small one, I could show you the letters James is making out of pretzel sticks. The standard ones are A, H, and O (or D, as pretzel sticks make squares), T, L, and Z (or N, depending on [...]
I’m glad God is putting all these tiny new people in my life. I started off not wanting to be pregnant back in April when we found out but now I am getting very excited to meet our own little Barnes in December. (And all the newest babies have been girls so far… makes me [...]
and baby, too. I am really starting to feel some movement, but still not nearly as strong as some pregnant women I know about the same far-along-ness. If you’re patient, and I mean really really rediculously patient, you can see it from the outside. My back has started hurting by the end of the day [...]
Brake repairs, again. Need a new boot or CV axle thingy, again. (maybe it’s the other side this time?) 2 years later. Why can’t this car keep brakes for longer than 2 years? I guess I shouldn’t complain; it’s old a 2000 model car.
Repairs done. We really did get lucky — David was [...]
**cross posted on my photoblog**
Every year, our church has what they call a Concert of Praise. It’s an evening service held with all of the Hill Country Bible Churches in the association. This year, there were so many churches (due to church planting!) that the concert had to be split between “East side – [...]
2001 Saturn SC2. Not bad taking this long to get that many miles considering we put over 40K on it in the first year we had it. Thankfully it’s been paid off for years now and we weren’t dumb and leased it — we would have had big penalties for mileage the first [...]
Olivia Kay Barnes (she’s the baby, hehe, Wendy is the big sister and that’s their other Grandma B. on the left)
(this is as big as the picture was in the email, I did not reduce the size – lest anyone think I am more excited about Gianna in the previous post which I [...]
But I got to visit a 9 hour old baby last night! See?!
This is Gianna Elise, and she is bound to become a knitter. Her mommy is one of the knitters I meet every Tuesday (well, almost every) at Barnes & Noble late at night to play with yarn, chat, and generally [...]
I’m an Aunt, level 5!
Hopefully later today I will get some pictures emailed to me so I can post. I just got a message from Aunt K. that she’s here, 8 pounds exactly, and beautiful. I’m excited about hearing more news (like a full name) and seeing pictures of Olivia.
I find myself thinking that I wished I lived closer to David’s side of the family. Not just parents, but his brothers and their wives as well. You see, I am about to become an Aunt again! Tomorrow! How exciting! And yet, I won’t be able to visit, see, hold, or share in the [...]
James and I made a quick trip up to Dallas to see Kambry and the cousins (and family and their pets) and James had a blast. He returned home quite sleep deprived but very glad to see Daddy again.
Happy Birthday, Kambry! We can’t believe you’re FOUR!
We helped inflate thousands of balloons on Thursday for the balloon drop Sunday night.
I’ll be there getting pictures of them falling. Can’t wait!
WELCOME
Hi there. Welcome to davejenbarnes.com! This is a story of a guy & a gal who fell in love, got married, and settled in the the ATX area. Somewhere along the way, we had three boys, adopted a cat, and bought a house. We're excited to share our everyday adventures. Thanks for visiting!FAVORITE CATEGORIES
